About the Lumina Metals Group
Lumina Metals (TSX: LMCU) is an international company engaged in the exploration of metal deposits and the development of mining projects. In Poland, the group operates through its company Zielona Góra Copper, developing three large-scale copper and silver mining projects: Nowa Sól, Sulmierzyce, and Mozów. Following its successful debut on the Toronto Stock Exchange in April 2026, which raised over CAD 400 million, the company has solid capital and has entered a dynamic phase of growth, while simultaneously pursuing a dual-listing procedure on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Our flagship project, Nowa Sól, is one of the most significant copper and silver deposits in the development phase globally, and the company has recently commenced work on a preliminary feasibility study for the construction of a mining facility as well as an environmental report.
In connection with our expansion towards construction and operation, we are establishing a team of top-tier specialists in Poland. We are seeking an experienced and business-oriented Director of People, Culture, and Safety who will lead the HR function, shape our human resources strategy, and oversee the acquisition, development, and retention of the team members required to deliver one of Europe's most important new mining projects.
Reporting directly to the Executive Board in Vancouver, the Director of People, Culture, and Safety will be responsible for building and managing the HR and HSE functions across all Polish offices. This is a leadership role that will evolve as the company grows, transitions from its current project-development stage to a full staffing structure during the construction and operation stages.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership and Organizational Design
Building and leading the HR and HSE functions from scratch, including creating the policies, systems, and team needed to support the company through development, construction, and operation stages,
Partnering with the Board of Directors to develop and implement human resources strategies aligned with corporate and project goals, ensuring organizational resilience and adequate staffing levels,
Advising on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management in a environment of dynamic corporate growth,
Building alignment between the Polish HR function and the Canadian parent company, ensuring synergy in corporate governance, reporting, compliance, and organizational culture.
Talent Acquisition and Workforce PlanningDirecting recruitment processes for technical, specialist, and executive positions across all project locations,
Developing a multi-year staffing plan to support the transition from development through construction to steady-state operations,
Managing relations with recruitment agencies and specialized partners within the mining sector.
Employee Relations, Culture, and EngagementFostering an organizational culture built on safety first and high performance, in line with Lumina Metals' values,
Serving as the key advisor to management on all employee matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions,
Designing and implementing HR and HSE policies, employee engagement programs, and suggesting continuous improvement designs based on surveys and data,
Nurturing a culture of inclusivity and collaboration throughout the entire organization.
Performance Management and Leadership DevelopmentDesigning and overseeing a company-wide performance management system, comprising goal setting, assessments, and development planning,
Identifying succession planning needs and opportunities for leadership development at all organizational tiers,
Sourcing and implementing training programs, technical certifications, and professional development initiatives,
Coaching and supporting managers in building leadership competencies and people management skills.
Compensation, Benefits, and Employee RetentionDeveloping and administering competitive compensation and benefit systems, benchmarked against the mining, engineering, and power sectors in Poland,
Managing annual compensation reviews, short-term incentive plans, and dedicated retention strategies for key roles,
Compliance, Governance, and Labor RelationsEnsuring full compliance with Polish labor laws, occupational health and safety regulations, and applicable employment standards,
Drafting and maintaining all HR and HSE policies, employment documentation, and internal procedures,
Handling relations with the in-house legal department, external legal counsels, labor bodies, and trade unions,
Supporting internal audits, governance requirements, and HR/HSE reporting at the Board level.
Employee Health, Safety, and Well-beingReviewing, improving, and promoting the implementation of and adherence to corporate HSE policies,
Leading or supporting workplace investigations and corrective action processes where appropriate.
HR and HSE Operations, Systems, and ReportingMaintaining accurate employee records and developing HSE and HR metrics, workforce analytics, and executive reports,
Selecting, implementing, and optimizing HR and HSE information systems suitable for current operations and future corporate growth,
Preparing regular HR and HSE reports for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
University degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Labor Relations, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
ExperienceMinimum of 10–15 years of professional experience in HR, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (HR Director or equivalent),
Proven track record of building or scaling HR functions, ideally in a capital projects, construction, industrial, or mining environment,
Experience working in or collaborating with multinational organizations, including international HR coordination, is highly desired,
Proven experience in managing the full HR lifecycle, from talent acquisition and development through to employee relations and compliance.
Knowledge and SkillsIn-depth knowledge of Polish labor law, employment regulations, and HR best practices,
Strong business acumen with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at the executive and Board levels,
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills in change management,
Analytical approach to work, with the ability to leverage data and workforce metrics for strategic decision-making,
Professional proficiency in both Polish and English (written and spoken) is required,
Polish professional HR certifications and/or internationally recognized HR credentials will be considered an asset.
